Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Lies! Lies! Lies! Lies!

This is part of the liberal agenda; continue to lie to attempt to make the naive members of public support such agenda’s lies.

The exodus of companies to states other than Connecticut is DUE TO THEIR BAD ECONOMIC CONDITIONS; i.e. taxes on corporations and taxes on their employees wages and taxes on the property owners in their state who are their employees.

Misdirection and obfuscation are tools of the Liberal fools who think building more stuff will make their state attractive to businesses.

Thankfully, the internet, Twitter, text messages, etc. allow the public to communicate facts, not Goerbel(sp?)-like lies. States such as Connecticut will not improve until the public votes out of office those lying politicians, such as ObaMalloy, who have repeatedly lied to them and whose chickens are coming home to roos … whose taxpaying citizens are leaving the state.

Rice, I don’t think NY will be a state to move to since their taxation and regulation burden is also very heavy. My guess is that somewhere south of the Mason-Dixon line might make more sense, preferably with no State Income Tax and less regulation.

From the 2nd paragraph of the article, “A string of state budget deficits, state and local tax policies, as well as hefty state debt obligations are all being blamed for why Aetna and others may be looking to places like Boston, Mass., to move their headquarters and attract talent.”

Since when is Boston, MA below the Mason-Dixon Line?

Heed YOUR OWN ADVICE…. I READ and HEARD enough about this on my morning news feeds to know the OPENING line is a feign to dissuade the underlying problems mentioned IMMEDIATELY below what you pointed to….
          i.e.

But many also are looking at the condition of Connecticut’s cities and how they measure up against the competition in other states.

“Our inactivity, our unwillingness to come up with an overall goal for our urban centers in the state of Connecticut is yet again costing us dearly,” said Democratic Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz on Thursday, the day after Aetna’s chief executive announced his company is in negotiations with several states to move its headquarters out of Hartford, where it has been based for nearly two centuries. He said major employers “want to know what our plan is” for Connecticut’s cities, adding how lawmakers may pass legislation this session that could lead to more state aid and stronger oversight of city spending.

The ABOVE points to the Democrats wanting MORE public funding of things that DON’T amount to anything that will help retain the companies fleeing Connecticut (Aetna, GE) and other liberal-ruled states.

Those two CT companies ‘tolerated’ for over a century the ‘bad situation’ that Dem politicians blame on the exodus of GE and pending exodus of Aetna. That is just another example of Dems continuing to lie and obfuscate the truth, and attempt to mislead the public. In this case, they’re trying to support contract work for the construction industry which supports them, as payback. The recent boondoggle project mentioned to me today was a 10 mile exclusive access bus-way constructed between Hartford and another major city about 3 years ago… which is greatly underutilized by the public.

I dunno. I’m just a bit smarter than the average polar bear.

If I’m allowed to guess, perhaps it’s due to the tiny size of Boston, with roadways established in Colonial days, when horses traveled no faster than 25 mph, max. Plenty of turns, blind intersections, etc. that become clogged with rush hour traffic, and The Big Dig really didn’t resolve that problem. ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Dig

            Texas is big. Boston isn’t.

            2. Liberty Mutual is not moving its headquarters to TX, just expanding its footprint.

They are relocating from Dallas. So why are they closing a huge office in Texas, Agent 0 (for IQ, and how many times you’ve learned after being told this)? They are relocating from other areas, likely also in Texas and the south. They also recently opened a new large office building in Boston, genius.

MonikerSwapper’s explanation is among the dumbest I’ve ever heard. They opened an office in Texas because Boston’s roads are too skinny? God Damn.

Now if that isn’t smoke being blown up the behind, I don’t know what is. The Democratic Party has controlled the state legislative process for 38 of the last 40 years, and they have sold CT down the river to curry favor with their most active supporters, the public employee unions, of which Aresimowicz is an AFSCME executive. They brag about bribing Navigators insurance to relocate 100 employees in the governor’s “First Five” program at the cost to the taxpayers six figures per employee, while at the same time Metlife pulls up stakes and flees from Bloomfield to Charlotte, NC with 450 employees. Aetna is just one of several big name companies who came to CT, and now are stepping away due to the hostile tax and regulatory environment. Aresimowicz and his cohorts are suddenly hip to the damage they have wrought on CT? Please! For the last 40 years they have locked the GOP out of the room when budgets were passed out of committee, they own every bad thing that has happened to CT economically.

Thanks for the details I did not know, but alluded to above. The lies by the Dems in CT are similar to those in other blue states that want to expand government plans to build new, shiny things that they SAY will attract businesses. Those who know better realize it is their punitive, escalating taxation – to pay those unions – that is the cause of the exodus of businesses, with no new businesses entering to replace them.

Kansas just reversed Brownback’s tax plan because the state is a disaster due to our. This plan is exactly what Republicans have been pushing to implement for decades. It doesn’t work, and never will.

This is just more of the same ‘everybody is leaving NY and CA soon because of taxes’ argument that has been wrong for 60 years.

If Aetna is not seriously considering moving to Nebraska, they are making an enormous mistake. Nebraska has some of the best quality of life, lowest cost of living, lowest taxes for insurance carriers, an outstanding available insurance workforce, including actuaries (since that was mentioned specifically in the article). Not only will Aetna’s needs be met, but with the lower cost of living, corporate expenses would be lower as well. The Omaha area is very diverse and has something for everyone, making it one of the best places to live in America.

My iceberg can’t reach Nebraska, but it can reach Alaska, for plenty of fresh fish.

Insurance companies will look at their current workforce, the workers available in the states it is contemplating moving to, and the costs of replacing workers who do not want to move. The latter cost is a key reason why a Connecticut insurer is highly unlikely to move halfway across the country. NY, NJ, MA, and PA make much more sense as those states are not too far from current employees homes, friends, and families in Connecticut.

How good is the fresh water fishing in Alaska,… uh, …Nebraska?

Connecticut and Hartford lost the label “Insurance Capital of the World” long ago. For example, Ohio is home to Progressive, Nationwide, Cincinnati, State Auto, Westfield, Motorists, Great American, Grange Mutual, American Modern, Central Mutual, and several others.
