Milliman Hires Moore as a LAD Consultant in Its Maine Office

Milliman Inc., a global consulting and actuarial firm, has hired Samie Moore to its Health & Welfare group as an end-to-end life, absence and disability (LAD) consultant.

Moore, formerly of Mercer and Hewitt, is an expert in LAD with 14 years of industry experience and subject matter expertise in family medical leave (FML), vacation, paid time off (PTO), disability and parental leave. She will be based in Milliman’s Portland, Maine, office in her new role.

As a LAD consultant, Moore will partner with employers on financial analyses, program implementation, claim audits, design strategy and vendor management. Previously, she has supported companies in a variety of sectors, with experience in the areas of healthcare, retail, media, high tech and pharma. She has also supported manufacturing, petroleum, transportation, communications, utilities and financial services employers.

She joins Milliman at a time when the company is seeking to broaden the scope of its health and welfare services provided to employers, according to Dan Skwire, a principal and consulting actuary at Milliman, in a company press release.

Milliman has consulting practices in healthcare, property and casualty insurance, life insurance and financial services, and employee benefits. Founded in 1947, it is an independent firm with offices in major cities around the globe.
