NRA members and all responsible gun owners have long had access to better and less expensive insurance coverage than that provided by Lockton. The NRA/Lockton insurance plan was a Johnny-Come-Lately program with both Lockton and the NRA looking to capitalize on this growing insurance segment.

Since when do insurance carriers NOT seek to capitalize on emerging markets? I know nothing of this program, but gee, isn’t that capitalism 101?

NRA is trying to forced Lockton to sell murder insurance but the carrier who was providing the coverage (Chubb) has also declined to offer this coverage. How is NRA going to force Lockton to sell something when there is no product to offer?? Ridiculous.

There may be legitimate forms of insurance for gun owners but CarryGuard was a bad concept from the get-go. It provided legal assistance to gun owners who elect to conceal carry and then are involved in a shooting incident. Think George Zimmerman. You want him for a client?? Both Chubb and Lockton made the right call in abandoning this dangerous program. All it did was encourage more people to carry guns in public…that’s the last thing we need.
