New York’s NFP Promotes Hyland to Its Surety Division

NFP, a New York, N.Y.-headquartered insurance broker and consultant that provides employee benefits, property and casualty, retirement and individual products, has named John Hyland, senior vice president of NFP Property and Casualty, to its Surety division.

In this new role, Hyland will work to accelerate growth in NFP’s surety bond service offerings by working closely with the company’s national team of more than thirty surety professionals to grow specialty lines and key relationships in the construction space. Hyland will report to Henry C. Lombardi, executive vice president and head of NFP’s Property and Casualty division.

Hyland brings more than three decades of experience in the surety industry to his new role, where he has served as an underwriter, an underwriting officer and a surety broker.

Prior to NFP, Hyland was a principal of The Hyde Agency, a New York-based surety and insurance specialist serving the construction industry.

Before The Hyde Agency, Hyland was with Aon Risk Solutions for two years and before Aon he was president of Allied North America of New Jersey Inc., with responsibility for insurance and surety placements in New Jersey and oversight for all surety in the greater New York region.

Before joining Allied North America, Hyland was president of Hartford Surety, with responsibility for marketing, underwriting, reinsurance and claims management for the surety product line and executive vice president of XL Insurance.
