Vermont Insurance Agents Association Elects Alan Kinney as President

Alan K. Kinney III, principal at Kinney Insurance Agency in St. Albans, Vermont, was recently elected president of the Vermont Insurance Agents Association (VIAA).

Within Kinney Insurance Agency, Kinney leads the commercial and agricultural property and casualty operations in addition to various daily activities. Kinney Insurance Agency also has offices in South Hero and Milton, Vermont.

Prior to joining the agency, Kinney spent 11 years in various operational leadership and management positions within GE and IBM.

Other VIAA board officers include Dan Rodliff, vice president of NFP P&C in South Burlington, Vermont; Mike Barrett, secretary/treasurer of Barrett Insurance Agency in St. Johnsbury, Vermont; and Ron Bixby, national director of the Ludlow Insurance Agency in Ludlow, Vermont.

The following agents also serve on the VIAA board of directors: Chip Ams of Finn & Stone Insurance in Manchester, Vermont; Erin Odell of Odell Insurance Agency in Bradford, Vermont; Paul E. Plunkett of Hickok and Boardman Insurance Group in Burlington, Vermont; and Jessica M. Fleury of The Richards Group in Brattleboro, Vermont.

VIAA is a statewide trade association representing 150 independent insurance agencies in Vermont with 900 employees. VIAA member independent insurance agents represent more than one insurance company, and as a result, can offer clients a wider choice of auto, home, business, life and employee benefits. Founded in 1906, VIAA’s mission is to be an advocate for independent insurance agents and to satisfy the professional needs of its members.
