Santarelli to Head Maryland’s Newly Formed Wye River Insurance Brokerage

Wye River Insurance, based in Baltimore, Md., has announced leadership appointments for the newly-formed insurance brokerage serving real estate and construction professionals in the multifamily industry.

Long-time insurance expert Katherine Santarelli will lead day-to-day operations and provide strategic brokering and consulting services for Wye River Insurance. As the former Real Estate and Construction Practice leader for RCM&D, Santarelli directed the placement of builders risk programs for multifamily and retail projects and has experience in negotiating insurance requirements in construction contracts. RCM&D and Wye River Insurance have formed a strategic alliance to launch this new venture.

Santarelli will work closely with Bozzuto Group Vice Chairman Rick Mostyn, who will now concurrently serve as CEO of Wye River Insurance. Mostyn will offer strategic counsel and guidance based on his more than 40 years of experience in apartment development, acquisition, homebuilding, property management and construction.

The startup of Wye River Insurance is a natural evolution for Santarelli, who for 15 years during her time in the insurance industry oversaw the placement of complex controlled insurance programs for The Bozzuto Group and other real estate and construction clients, according to a Wye River Insurance press release.
