The plant closed in late March and just reopened and he died now?. Not from contracting it there.

When was he infected? How old was he? What underlying conditions did he have?

This zero risk tolerance will now destroy the world.

Did you read the article? It says it reopened last month, not “just reopened”. The virus can kill you in less than a week after contracting it, you do know that right? While I agree the article didn’t give a ton of details, you misread what little they did include. I imagine since a suit was brought they have at least some argument for him having contracted it from the plant.

I have to disagree with your last sentence. The suit was brought in Philadelphia, one of the most litigious cities in the US. Also, there are constantly ads on all local channels in the Philadelphia area from law firms advising “anyone who contracted COVID 19 to contact them, no money down, no costs unless we win, etc.” Although he worked for JBS it does not state definitively that he caught it there. Montgomery County has the second highest number of Coronavirus cases in PA. And if he is from Philadelphia, it has the highest number of cases. There will be many suits brought and some may be legitimate, but just because he filed the suit, does not mean it has merit.

Yeah, but it was brought in Philadelphia from a worker in a small town in Pennsylvania. Souderton has a population just over 7,000. I would venture to guess the lawyers in Philadelphia are going to be a fair higher in quality than the options in Souderton. It’s not like he brought it to Los Angeles to sue, he brought it to the capital of his state.

The article definitely doesn’t state definitively that he caught it there, because it’s a matter for the lawsuit to determine if he did or not. If he didn’t, then there you go. It’s sad that so many people are quick to defend the soulless corporation though instead of assuming that maybe the person who died while working in an industry RIFE with infection and laborers being forced to work in unsafe conditions, that maybe the suit has some justification on its side.

I agree, just because he filed doesn’t mean it has merit. But maybe you should re-evaluate your beliefs if you automatically think the little guy is to blame and immediately want to side with the giant corporation. We’re in late-stage capitalism. Giant corporations do not care about you, or any of us.

        Wow…So much ignorance.

It can kill you in a week (uncommon), but, and the key event you miss here: It can take WEEKS after exposure for you to develop symptoms. Initially that was how this virus became an issue. Trump wanted the flight folks who had been exposed to it quarantined. The CDC at the time said 2 weeks was the longest it could last, and quarantined these people for 15 days. Then, at about 21 days I think it was, someone got sick, and, around the exact same time they learned that this virus could incubate FOR UP TO 39 DAYS and it was not uncommon for it to get well beyond 2 weeks for people to show symptoms. Gosh, you are so low information, and you just go to whatever kowtows your political beliefs on the left.
