Great American Insurance Group has hired Gordon M. Lewis as a divisional vice president within its Ocean Marine division.
Lewis has more than 28 years of experience in numerous lines of business within the marine insurance industry. He joins Great American from the North American branch of a large specialty insurance company, where he led the Ocean Marine team for the last eight years as vice president of Ocean Marine.
In his new role at Great American Insurance Group, Lewis will lead the division’s Northeast underwriting team in New York, N.Y., Windsor, Conn., and Boston, Mass.
Great American has been insuring ocean-related businesses since 1962. For more than 50 years, its Ocean Marine division has responded to the special needs of marine-based businesses.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the operations of Great American Insurance Group are engaged primarily in property and casualty insurance, focusing on specialty commercial products for businesses, and in the sale of traditional fixed and indexed annuities in the retail, financial institutions, broker-dealer and registered investment advisor markets. The members of Great American Insurance Group are subsidiaries of American Financial Group Inc., also based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
