IA&B Welcomes John Savant as Government Affairs Director

The independent insurance agents’ trade association for Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware has a new lobbyist.

The Insurance Agents & Brokers (IA&B) has hired John Savant as government affairs director. In his role, Savant will oversee the organization’s legislative advocacy.

Savant most recently worked for the Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS, where he was responsible for the association’s legislative advocacy efforts, including direct lobbying, grassroots mobilization, and managing the association’s political action committee. Savant graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2016 with a political science degree.

Concord Specialty Risk Promotes 3

New York-based Concord Specialty Risk announce the following promotions:

Ilan D. Peress has been promoted to chief marketing and administration officer, having already helped Concord increase market share. Peress is a member of the New York bar and worked at KPMG, M&A Tax Services, prior to joining Concord.

Rustin I. Paul has been promoted to chief underwriting officer, Representations & Warranties insurance (RWI). Paul has guided Concord’s analysts and underwriters through a period of growth in staff and refinement of processes, forms and protocols. He is also a member of the New York bar and was a partner at Blank Rome prior to joining Concord.

Connor Fitzpatrick has been promoted to manager, RWI Analysts. Fitzpatrick assists the firm with its data analytics and onboarding of new analysts. He was a research intern with Berkeley Research Group prior to joining Concord.

Concord specializes in transactional risk insurance. It is a series of RSG Underwriting Managers, which is subsidiary of Ryan Specialty Group.

IMUA Elects Officers

The New York-based Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) recently elected its 2022 slate of officers. Jessica Frankovich, executive vice president, Custom Property & Inland Marine Seneca Insurance Co., a Crum & Forster company, was re-elected for a second term as the association’s chairperson as were Anthony Falcone, Intact, as deputy chair, and Arthur Sieder, Great American, vice-chair.
