Swiss Re Launches Internet “Gateway”

Swiss Re, among the leaders in applying the Internet to business, announced another initiative Monday with the launch of www.swissre.com/portal, designed to give “visitors rapid access to comprehensive information on the subject of risk as well as to services and interactive business processes.”

“The main features of the new portal embody aspects that are important for all users: comprehensive and clearly structured content, rapid access to the current information they need, and direct access to e-business applications,” said the announcement.

The portal is designed to give customers and potential customers quick and easy access to all off Swiss Re’s services, including “CatNet”, an interactive portal for determining regional risk probabilities, “ELRiX”, a “Web- based platform for electronic trading in risks, and ELRAC, the new system for electronic policy management.”
