“The company will use the new office as their European sales and support center for marketing their Internet negotiation and trading platform, designed to serve cedents and the global reinsurance market,” said the announcement.
Ian Waite, who will head the new office, stated, “The opening of our London office in the Lloyd’s building places us squarely at one of the epicenters of the global insurance and reinsurance marketplace.” He emphasized eRE’s commitment to developing technology to “help insurers and reinsurers simplify and expedite complex transactions that unnecessarily consume vast amounts of time, effort and resources.”
Backed by a $2.5 million investment from Chubb Corp., eRE is committed to developing “Web-based tools that eliminate inefficiencies in the traditional reinsurance process while enhancing access to reinsurance markets worldwide.”
