IBC to Hold “Emerging Trends” Conference May 14

The Insurance Bureau of Canada announced that it will sponsor a one-day conference at the sixth annual Automotive Insurers and Manufacturers Forum (AIM) to be held Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Constitution Hall, Room 105, North Building.

The theme of the IBC’s presentation is “Emerging Trends.” The AIM Forum brings together key players in the insurance and automotive worlds in order to share valuable information and ideas on issues of common concern, and features a wide variety of speakers and topics. “AIM 2003 aims to spark far-reaching discussions that could lead to improvements in the prevention of insurance crime, vehicle and road safety and emerging insurance trends,” said the announcement.

The Conference will feature discussions on the following topics:
— Emerging trends in managing risk
— Consumer perception and industry image
— Vehicle safety – an overview of issues and future directions
— Trends in vehicle technology
— Developments and future trends in insurance crime

It’s scheduled to start at 8 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast. Terri MacLean, IBC’s Executive Vice President of Information and Investigations, will deliver opening remarks. The Keynote Address will be delivered by Jim Miller, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Honda Canada Inc.
