Robert Goodman Joins Rothschild As a Managing Director-Insurance Sector

Robert Goodman, a veteran investment banker who specializes in the insurance sector, has joined Rothschild as a Managing Director in its Financial Institutions Group based in New York.

Gerald Rosenfeld, CEO of Rothschild North America said Goodman will focus on both global cross border and U.S. domestic insurance transactions. He has been a senior advisor to financial institutions in North America and Europe on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and strategy for 20 years.

Prior to joining Rothschild, Goodman was a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group at Lazard Freres & Co. (New York) since 1999, where he has advised insurance companies on a global basis.

He began his career as an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1993, where he served as an Executive Director of the Financial Institutions Group in both London and New York. Prior to Goldman he was a partner of McKinsey & Company in Europe where he was one of the leaders of the European Financial Institutions Practice with a particular focus on the insurance sector.
