Willis Strengthens Montreal Presence

Global insurance broker, Willis Group Holdings is strengthening its presence in Montreal, Quebec, Canada with several new appointments. Luc Brunet and Jacques Simard have been named to the positions of Sr. VP and Account Executive in its Montreal Operations. They “will bolster Montreal’s client development and client service capabilities,” said the bulletin.

In addition, Willis noted that “Mario Campeau, Account Executive, Construction Division and Special Programs, and Suzanne Brisebois, VP-Executive Risk Practice, recently joined the team, offering specialty insurance expertise in their respective disciplines.”

Gilles Duclos, Executive VP and Chairman of Willis in Quebec, commented: “Luc brings exceptional sales skills and complex account knowledge to our Montreal operation. He will help Willis develop even more innovative offerings to prospects and clients that will reflect their global needs. Jacques’ extensive business development, product knowledge and underwriting expertise will help increase the breadth of our team.”

Bernard Deschamps, Executive VP and Managing Partner of Willis’ operations in Montreal, added: “Mario’s extensive commercial, construction and professional liability experience strengthens Willis’ capacity to provide additional services to existing and new clients.”

He also welcomed Brisebois, stating: “Joining an already robust Executive Team in Canada, Suzanne’s executive risk expertise opens up our capacity to focus on the board of directors’ needs of corporate clients and expands the team’s capacity to serve professional insurance needs that are continually growing in the marketplace.”

Willis gave the following details for its new executives:
Brunet joins Willis from Essor Assurances Placements Conseil Inc., where he was responsible for sales turnaround, insurance and risk management knowledge development. Prior to Essor, Brunet spent nine years with Aon Reed Stenhouse as Vice President of their Risk Management and International units, handling insurance portfolios for major national and international clients.

Simard comes to Willis after six years with Marsh Canada, most recently as a Senior Vice President, Brokers Services, marketing E&O, D&O, CGL lines and responsible for Surety. Prior to Marsh, Simard spent 14 years with AXA Assurances Inc., focused on specialty lines business development and underwriting.

Campeau brings to Willis more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently as Vice President of XPRO Cabinet de Services Financiers and previously with Allianz Canada Insurance Company as their Regional Director, responsible for commercial and personal lines, with a premium volume of $60 million.

Brisebois joined Willis in Montreal to provide advisory and insurance placement services to Risk Management, Commercial and Financial Institution clients on their Directors and Officers and Professional Liability areas of exposure. Before joining Willis, she was an Account Manager with Aon Reed Stenhouse and, prior to that, Brisbois was the Department of Financial Institutions Manager at Chubb Insurance Company of Canada.
