Lloyd’s Broker Miller Forms New Facultative Reinsurance Team

Miller Insurance Services Limited, an independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker operating in the international markets and at Lloyd’s, announced that Richard Court has joined the Company, and will “lead its new facultative reinsurance team, with Robert Doust.” Both men joined Miller from Guy Carpenter’s GCFac unit.

They have a combined 40 years of insurance industry experience in facultative reinsurance, including the development of “innovative strategies in offshore and onshore energy and other classes of business.”

Julian Taylor, Board Director of Miller with responsibility for facultative reinsurance business, indicated how delighted he was to gain Court and Doust’s experience. He noted that the newly strengthened facultative reinsurance team “will complement our strong treaty reinsurance capabilities and allow us to provide the best blend of risk coverage for our clients. This is an area in which we will continue to invest.”

Miller Insurance Services Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Miller Insurance Investments Limited and the sole UK insurance intermediary within the group of Miller companies, which employs approximately 450 people. It handles premiums approaching $2 billion, and traces its Lloyd’s brokerage origins back to 1902.
