Glencairn Promotes Cook to CEO

Glencairn, a company within Faber & Dumas, the third-party wholesale insurance broker created by Willis, announced the promotion of Nick Cook to Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.

Previously a Director and Senior Partner of Glencairn and head of its Property division, Cook succeeds Steve Hearn, who will remain Executive Chairman of Glencairn in addition to his role as CEO of Faber & Dumas.

Cook began his insurance career at as graduate trainee at Sedgwick plc in 1992. In 2000, he joined Glencairn from Marsh as a Partner to establish a Property capability. Cook’s primary role has been the day-to-day management and growth of the Property division which now includes further product lines in Terrorism, Construction and Cargo.

Hearn commented: “Since Nick joined Glencairn he has been instrumental in growing the Property Division into one of Lloyd’s and the London Market’s largest producers of North American and International Property premium. Nick has handpicked an exceptionally talented team, creating one of the strongest Property propositions for clients in the London Market. I am wholly confident that as CEO, he will lead Glencairn to even greater success.”

As CEO, Cook will oversee all Glencairn operating units, with responsibility for income production, client servicing, market relationships, and business development. In addition, he will continue to have full responsibility for the Property division, which services North American and International wholesale and third-party Property business.
