Millions for Defense but Not One Cent for Trubutes. My apologies if I got the quote wrong but the sentiment is correct.

From the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli in part refers to the crushing of pirates who were sailing around off the African coast and taking crew members into slavery unless they were paid protection money by the more civilized nations.

Blow the pirates up and set an example. Appeasement doesn’t work and these vermin have absolutely no right to civil trials in the US or anywhere else.

Well at least they’re up front about being pirates in the first place. Unlike some business executives that call themselves “CEOs”

Semper Fi. The ship owners are partly to blame because they make piracy profitable by coughing up ransoms. The “root cause” here is the illegal activity of human garbage from some 4th world country that doesn’t even have a government. Four things need to happen to stop the civilized, decent world from having to incur the massive expenses to deal with these pieces of human garbage.

    1. Put a bounty on pirates, dead only, not alive. Let them become the hunted. We don’t need to incur more expense to prosecute, jail, and try the bastards.

    2. Pass an internation edict that all pirates will be shot on sight.

    3. Send an international swat team into the port where the 14 vessels are being held. Free the hostage, and eliminate (kill) any Somali punks they find.

    4. Refuse to pay ransoms.

Until and unless these thugs perceieve a serious consequence to their actions this problem will continue.

TN, your class envy is not at all becoming. There are plenty of CEO’s who make more than I can ever dream of and I don’t begrudge them at all.

Better you should worry about the federa pirates in DC who are stealing from you with impunity.

Class Envy? class envy? nah, I wouldn’t call it that. Allthough you do have a point with the politician comparison. But since our current government tends to act more like a board of directors than actual leaders, neither one of us is too far off the mark.

SCREW CEO SALARIES, TALK ABOUT THE FREAKIN’ ISSUS …..

PERSONALLY, I AGREE WITH PAUL. THESE PEOPLE ARE VERMIN AND NEED TO BE ELIMINATED. THEY MAKE CIVILIZED PEOPLE LOOK STUPID AND IMPOTENT BECAUSE NOBODY HAS DECIDED ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

This isn’t “fun” and the problem deserves a solution…..not d’etante. Too many people still believe you can solve 21st century problems with 20th century solutions. They don’t apply, particularly when dealing with scum. We need to stop tolerating their bad behavior. Their actions do not warrant respecting their “rights”. They have no rights when they operate outside the boundaries of civilization. Paying ransoms and writing memos is like threatening a kid who is mis-having. Until and unless a serious consequence is perceived and un-leashed, there is no behavioral change. They need to be eliminated (aka shot on sight)
