This article fails to address some important geopolitical realities of China. First, China needs us more than we need them. The number of household incomes with an average of 24K or more is about 64mm, about the size of germany. This middle class group has no where to sell their fares in their own country so they have to go to the US and Europe. If we have a blip in our economy, we go to unemployment and may lose houses. They lose the ability to eat. The article fails to point that there is a history of the poor hinterland people getting ticked off at the wealthy seaside people. Revolution will occur again and once again cause redistribution of wealth that takes the country backwards.

China, although an important player in the world, will always be struggling to keep up with the US.
