I read that the captain ordered dinner after receiving word that his ship was stricken. All of us are dying to find out what he ordered, as well as the dessert his companion enjoyed: The cuisine on board must have been exceptional, given the dire situation. Please post it for us?

Perhaps the captain’s punishment should be that he becomes a tasty meal for the fish at the site of the accident…

I love the moniker. Have you read “The Food Chronology” If not, you ‘d love it.

As far as what the captain ordered. Dee’s post reminds me of the “airplane” line “We nned to find someone who can fly the plane who didn’t order fish for dinner”. That as real line from a 1957 movie “Zero Hour”. I’m way off subject but hey, it’s Friday.

I thought there was a law that you couldn’t bring suit in the U.S. because the ship was registered abroad, or something to that extent. If so, why are these attorneys encouraging guests who were on board to file suit in the U.S….money hungry perhaps?
Costa reimbursed all their ticket costs and paid to get people home, and are giving each passenger a fair settlement. And if any passenger was injured, they will determine settlements for those passengers individually.
Though the captain does seem to have erred in judgement, it seems the company is legitimately trying to make things right in a fair and sensitive way.
