Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd announced that John (“Jack”) Kuhn will be joining the company next week as Chief Executive Officer, Global Insurance, responsible for Endurance’s U.S., Bermuda and International insurance operations.
He will be based in Endurance’s Bermuda office, where his appointment is subject to approval by the Bermuda Department of Immigration.
During his 26 year career in the insurance business, Kuhn has served in multiple senior underwriting and management roles and he has built and led successful specialty insurance operations in the U.S. and internationally
Endurance CEO David Cash described Kuhn as a “talented and respected insurance leader with a demonstrated ability to build great specialty businesses. He brings important experience and perspective to Endurance’s leadership team and we all look forward to working with Jack to grow Endurance’s insurance business into an industry leader.”
Kuhn joins Endurance from Axis Capital where his most recent role was Chief Underwriting Officer, Axis Insurance, responsible for worldwide insurance operations. Prior to that he served as CEO of the North American Division of Axis Insurance.
Kuhn joined Axis Capital in 2003 when the company acquired Kemper Insurance’s Financial Insurance Solutions business, which he had built as President of that business unit. Kuhn started his insurance career at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, where he assumed increasing responsibility, culminating in the role of Chief Underwriting Officer for Chubb/Executive Protection. He holds a B.A. degree from Wesleyan University.
