People have placed their faith in politicians to solve this problem. This is an engineering problem, not one that can be solved by politicians making hollow noises.

World temperatures have been flat for over a decade. Anthropogenic global warming liars are now in desperation mode, as you can tell from the propaganda above.

Hey, what ended the last Ice Age?

“Temperatures are already 0.8 C [1.44°F] above pre-industrial levels and creeping higher despite a slowdown since around 2000, perhaps caused by more sun-dimming pollution from nations such as China and India that would reflect heat back into space or by more heat entering the oceans.”

We’re supposed to be alarmed by a 1.44°F rise in global temps since the mid- to late-19th century? I didn’t know we were monitoring global temps in the mid- to late-19th century. Even if we were, that’s a really short base line. It omits a few Ice Ages huh?

So pollution causes the temperature to rise, while causing it not to rise due to “sun-dimming”?

And as heat enters the oceans they do what? Evaporate, which is the essence of refrigeration.

You people are a laugh riot! Stop! Yer killin me!

Is this the death knoll for the global insurance industry? Unabated climate change will mean a world of climate extremes and disruption which are totally unpredictable. Past weather statistics and data will be pretty meaningless. How does the insurance industry model risk in a World with an unstable and climate changing at an unprecedented speed? It amazes me that the global insurance industry is not out there advocating for a global solution to climate change as if its life depended upon it, which of course it does.

What a load of bunk. No significant warming for almost 17 years so the climate “scientists” are becoming increasingly shrill and desperate.
The climate “scientists” better hope we get some real warming soon before the broader public takes note of this “pause” in warming.

My friends, numerous ice core sample studies as well as recent published research into the fossilized remains of ocean life going back 11,000 years (please stop me if I’m going to fast for you) shows that global average temperatures were cooling slowly for the past 4,000 years, UNTIL the Industrial Revolution when humans started burning fossil fuels and human population exploded (from 1 billion in 1850 to over 7 billion in 2012).

global temperature for the past 11,300 years. Science, 339(6124), pp. 1198-1201.

By the way, when the oceans heat up they do evaporate, thereby releasing even more trapped CO2 into the atmosphere, where it will stay for hundreds of years, continuing to trap additional heat.

Cyrusc, who was your Science teacher in school? When water evaporates, it releases oxygen into the air, not CO2. Plants also give off oxygen into the air. The earth has a marvelous way of replenishing oxygen so we can breath or we wouldn’t have been here as long as we have.

First Point: Scientists are linking the unseasonable wintry weather in Northern Europe to climate change, saying that we should expect record cold extremes, much like we have been experiencing extreme rainfall and heatwaves of recent years. Due to global warming the sea ice is rapidly depleting, this rapid ice loss adds heat to the ocean and atmosphere. More climate scientists now say this can allow cold air from the Arctic to plunge much further south, bringing record-breaking icy weather to much of Europe.

Second: New research shows that the world’s oceans have been warming up rapidly over recent years. Different layers of the ocean absorb heat differently, but all seem to be affected. Just this week, scientists from France and Spain announced that the oceans have been absorbing more and more heat into the top 700 meters of water since the year 2000. This news comes hot on the heels of another study which revealed ‘unprecedented’ rates of warming in the ocean depths below 700 meters over the same period. Hence oceans have possibly been acting as a heat sink slowing the warming of the atmosphere.

Third: Climate sientists talk about global average temperatures so these will mean much higher temperatures at certain places like the poles and tropics for example. And this is onloy the start – higher end predictions have it at 6 degrees by the end of this centruy.

Fourth: Once the genie is out of the bottle we cannot put it back again. So do we want to run this experiment? Once we know 100% for sure it will be too late. Seems highly irresponsible to me. If the 98% of peer reviewed scientists are wrong and we do something apbut it we diversify our energy supply, use resources more efficiently. If the 98% of peer reviewed expert scientists are right and we do not do something about it we are up the proverbial without a paddle!

Some of their focus has shifted from Global Warming to Climate Change. Somehow, it is all man’s fault for creating all this and has nothing to do with weather patterns that shift over a period of time. By the way, it was much warmer back in the dust bowl days in the 30’s than it has been in the past 40 years. I guess we didn’t have all these experts around back then to blame it on man. The main reason I ascribe to what is going on is all the hot air emanating from Washington DC.

I will most likely be regarded as a “sceptic” with my following commentary however, believe that I am actually a “realist”, so here we go.
The recent arguments and claims around “extreme weather events” comprise a desperation situation from those absolute scaremongers out there.
When man-made “global warming” was first discussed, the scaremongers linked it, via an alarmist cry, to drought and hot weather. All the rivers and dams would dry up and we were all doomed.
It has now become linked to cold weather, cyclones, floods, frosts, snowfalls. Some of these scaremongers are now even endeavouring to link earthquakes into the equation.
The causational links of all these events with extra greenhouse gases are in the realms of what the Grimm Brothers produced all those years ago………fairytales.
If you request a serious scientific explanation from these scaremongers, sit back, belt up and prepare yourself for the greatest fluffy and magical concepts ever espoused upon the human race.
The real facts of the matter are that the Climate moves in cycles……..always has and always will. To liken the recent climate events to the planet being on steroids is nonsense, I am certain that if you tested the planet in past centuries, you would establish that it does periodically sneak into the medicine cabinet.
Extreme weather has always happened………climate cycles………..however, the degree fluctuates from year to year, decade to decade and the available data throughout the world shows this.
IPCC Chairman, Rajendra Pauchari, recently stated that the data shows the planet has not warmed in 17 years………any reports to the contrary are absolute rubbish and without foundation.
What happens on the Sun has more effect on our planet and its climate than any man-made situation could ever have.
Our challenge today, as it has always been, is to understand the climate cycles and how they affect us in all the different geographies and in specific areas that are now far more densely populated than they may have been a decade or more ago. When we understand correctly what the triggers are from climate cycle to climate cycle, we will be able to prepare for those changes in a non alarmist manner.
