May 21, 2015

Independent broker network Brokerslink has signed a three year strategic partnership agreement with pan-African insurance group, Saham Finances.

The bulletin said the agreement one of the biggest pan-African insurance groups (outside of South Africa) with a turnover of more than $1 billion, “will increase its participation in Brokerslink’s current book of business in the region for property and casualty as well as accident and health insurance. Both parties will also work together to create new business opportunities.”

Brokerslink noted that Africa and the Middle East is “a key development region. 12 months ago the broker created a specific Middle East and Africa management team led by Youness Rhallam, CEO of Alpha Assurances, one of the largest independent insurance brokers in Morocco, to drive expansion in these rapidly growing markets. The initiative has already paid dividends by enabling Brokerslink to build closer relationships with local clients and tailor its service delivery to match the specific needs of the region.”

The bulletin also explained that “Brokerslink was restructured in 2015 following capital investments by MDS, Crystal & Company, Filhet-Allard, Nova and CGSC to create a diversified global broking company focused on utilizing its new corporate strength to expand and build enhanced multi-national client support capabilities. Brokerslink has also established a dedicated and centralized management resource supported by marketing, branding and an expanded Board.”

CEO José Manuel Fonseca said: “To realize Brokerslink’s full potential in Africa and the Middle East we need to partners with the best insurers in the region. Saham has proven to be an excellent ally with an unbeatable knowledge of this often complicated market. With a three year strategic partnership now in place we can all focus on implementing initiatives that will come to fruition both now and in the future. The opportunities are very exciting.”

Raymond Farhat, Managing Director of Saham Finances added: “Saham Finances and Brokerslink have a shared vision of growth and a belief in strong business ethics. This provides an excellent knowledge-based platform from which we can create opportunities that will benefit both organizations in the long term. We look forward to working even closer with Brokerslink in the future and driving innovation that will protect our client’s assets within Africa and the Middle East.”
