International Underwriting Association Elects New Market Committee Leaders

The London-based International Underwriting Association’s new Delegated Authority Underwriting Group has held its first meeting and elected Paul Rich of Inter Hannover as its chairman. Matt Gordon of Aviva has been appointed deputy chairman.

The group was established in response to a growing number of queries about delegated agreements across the London company market. It discussed the results of the Financial Conduct Authority’s recent thematic review on delegated authorities and will, in future meet monthly.

Meanwhile, Marcus Drew of Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe has been elected chairman of the IUA’s Non-Marine Environmental Committee. Peter Jarvis of AIG Europe Limited has been elected deputy chairman of the group which discusses issues surrounding the development of insurance coverage for environmental liabilities.

Finally, Melanie Rouvray-Kampe of Hannover Rueckversicherung AG has been elected chair of the IUA Clauses Committee which drafts and publishes non-marine model wordings for use in the London Market.
