Talbot Australia Appoints Crisis Management Underwriting Team

Talbot Underwriting Australia, the Sydney-based branch of Talbot Risk Services Pte Ltd., has established a crisis management practice with the appointment of two leading underwriters to drive growth in specialty lines in the Australasian region.

Steve Ward and Hamish McKay join Talbot Australia as senior class underwriter and class underwriters, respectively.

Ward and McKay have developed leading positions in the crisis management lines in Australia, and have experience in the provision of cover around product recall and other specialized products to leading Australian companies, the company said in a statement.

Ward and McKay join Talbot from XL Catlin, where they served as underwriting manager – specialty, and crisis management underwriter, respectively. Ward previously held various high level managerial positions at AIG in Sydney and Brisbane, and McKay worked as underwriter and underwriter assistant at QBE Insurance in Auckland, New Zealand.
