November 16, 2016

Lloyd’s announced that Paolo Vagnone has been appointed to the newly created role of Strategy & Change director.

Vagnone will lead the teams responsible for the development of Lloyd’s strategy as well as the management of major change projects. He will join Lloyd’s Executive Team and report to Inga Beale, CEO of Lloyd’s.

Vagnone joins Lloyd’s from Assicurazioni Generali and brings over 20 years’ experience in senior insurance roles. He has an MBA from INSEAD.

Lloyd’s also confirmed Hilary Weaver in the role of chief risk officer, with responsibility for risk governance and for Lloyd’s regulatory and government affairs.

Weaver has worked for Lloyd’s for 14 years, and was previously head of Internal Audit, leading internal audit services for Lloyd’s globally as well as the validation work for Lloyd’s Solvency II internal model.

A chartered accountant, Weaver previously worked for KPMG internationally for nearly 13 years. She has risk and assurance experience in banking, investment management, and insurance.

“Paolo brings with him considerable experience that will be vital in ensuring that we have a clear strategic approach in what promises to be an exciting and unpredictable time,” said Beale.

“In the last six months, Hilary has already demonstrated the ability to manage the key relationships with government and regulators and she will be absolutely critical to us in the months ahead as we prepare for life outside the European Union,” Beale went on to say.
