Marsh Names 25 Apprentices in UK to Promote Youth Opportunities

Marsh announces the appointment of 25 apprentices to its 2016 UK Apprentice Program, which offers young people employment and training opportunities across the firm’s UK office network.

This year’s apprentices join Marsh in Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle and Norwich.

Marsh’s UK Apprentice Program aims to recruit 100 apprentices nationwide over the next five years. Since its launch in 2014 the number of places on the program has doubled, to offer those starting out in their careers across the UK the chance to pursue opportunities in the country’s thriving risk and insurance industry.

Employed by Marsh as client advisers, over the course of the two-year program the apprentices will have the opportunity to gain a variety of technical and professional qualifications, including a Certificate of Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute. The Marsh UK Apprentice Program is open to students that have gained a minimum of 240 UCAS points at ‘A’ level or equivalent.

Joe Grogan, CEO of Marsh’s corporate business, UK & Ireland, commented: “Our UK Apprentice Program offers an attractive alternative to further or higher education for bright and ambitious school leavers, equipping them with the technical expertise and skills they require to develop a varied and exciting career at Marsh. We want to attract candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds who will work hard on behalf of our clients and are committed to bringing new skills and enthusiasm to our firm.”

The UK Apprenticeship Program complements Marsh’s UK Graduate Program, which offers two-year placements for university graduates, and this year appointed 23 graduates, based in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
