AIG Names Spaven as Head of Liabilities & Financial Lines, Singapore & SE Asia

AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. (AIG Singapore) announced that Scott Spaven, who is currently head of Client & Broker Engagement for Singapore and Southeast Asia, is taking on the additional role of head of Liabilities and Financial Lines for Singapore and Southeast Asia, with effect from Dec. 1, 2017.

Spaven takes over from Roy Wilmoth II, who is moving on to a new role as the head of Multinational Client Servicing, North America.

In his new role, Spaven will drive profitable growth across the liabilities and financial lines business, improve operational performance and create industry-focused client solutions, said AIG in a statement. He will report to Claudia Salem, chief executive officer of AIG Singapore and head of Southeast Asia.

Spaven began his career as a property and casualty underwriter in the UK, before moving into broking where he spent over 10 years focusing on the management of large and complex accounts, new business development as well as placement strategy and implementation. In 2011, Spaven moved to Singapore with Willis Towers Watson to be the head of Business Development and Placement, before he joined AIG in 2013.
