SCOR Investment Partners Promotes Rostan as Head of Insurance-Linked Securities

SCOR Investment Partners announced the promotion of Sidney Rostan as head of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS), effective April 1, 2019. Sidney Rostan replaces Vincent Prabis, who is leaving the company to take a different career path.

Rostan, 47, will be in charge of all of the ILS management business (including catastrophe bonds and collateralized reinsurance contracts), which amounted to more than US$1.34 billion at the end of February 2019. He reports directly to Fabrice Rossary, chief investment officer of SCOR Investment Partners.

Rostan joined SCOR Investment Partners in July 2015 as a senior ILS portfolio manager. He co-managed all of SCOR Investment Partners’ ILS portfolios and segregated mandates and participated in business development.

Pierre Mouilhade, 35, ILS portfolio manager, will take on additional responsibility for private transactions. He reports directly to Rostan. Mouilhade joined SCOR Investment Partners as an ILS analyst and portfolio manager in June 2015. In charge of the analysis and management of catastrophe bonds, Mouilhade has much experience in the analysis of transactions, securities trading and broker relations, said SCOR.

Grégory Scheffer, 46, has been appointed ILS portfolio manager notably for the catastrophe bond markets, reporting to Rostan. A member of the ILS team since June 2014, Scheffer is an expert in portfolio risk modeling and monitoring.

The recruitment of a specialized analyst will further strengthen the team, said SCOR.

“I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Sidney as head of ILS. ILS represents a strategic business activity for us and has been the first investment strategy to have been historically commercialized towards external investors,” said François de Varenne, CEO of SCOR Investment Partners.
