“As businesses, people and governments battle with the COVID-19 situation and its deeper ramifications, the global reinsurance industry has the opportunity and responsibility to leverage its expertise in risk management and resilience building for the benefit of our societies and economies,” said Clarke in a statement. “I am excited to take the helm of the GRF at this critical juncture and, on behalf of all members, wish to express my gratitude to Kevin for leading the GRF over the past two years.”

“It is a privilege to serve as the GRF’s vice chair. As globalization is receding and with protectionism on the rise, the forum’s mission to promote an open and fair framework for global reinsurance markets and raise the understanding of the value of reinsurance to economies and societies, is more important than ever,” commented Henchoz.

The Global Reinsurance Forum (GRF) is composed of 12 global reinsurers: AXA XL, Gen Re, Hannover Re, Lloyd’s, MAPFRE Re, Munich Re, PartnerRe, RenaissanceRe, RGA, SCOR, Swiss Re and Toa Re. The group’s main objective is to promote a stable, innovative and competitive worldwide reinsurance market.
