France’s AXA Drops German Power Giant RWE as a Client over Large Coal Operations

    Slippery slope, though AXA does not confirm WHY they dropped the insured – seems many are making assumptions. Could be myriad reasons. If it is, in fact, exclusively due to coal use/carbon footprint, then just write it with limited pollution coverage or backstop heavily. Carriers arguably have a limited “politically correct” role to play: focus on supporting cleaner initiatives rather than directly punishing those that are environmentally friendly.

    Lots of people here seem to be against insurers deciding which risks they want to write.
