Occam Underwriting, the specialist lines-focused managing general agent, has announced the promotion of Chief Financial Officer Mark Fisher to chief executive officer, subject to regulatory approval.
The previous CEO, Lance Gibbins, will continue to serve the company as chair.
Fisher has been CFO at Occam for three years. He has 25 years of experience within the insurance industry, working with both carriers and MGA operations, having started his career in audit. Prior to joining Occam, he held senior finance roles at CNA Insurance and Ironshore, a Liberty Mutual company.
“This is a really exciting time for Occam,” said Fisher. “We will be expanding the business to take advantage of new and emerging risks which require complex insurance protection, and more announcements will follow. I am thrilled at having the opportunity to lead Occam into its next phase of growth, and I am delighted that I will be able to continue to draw on Lance’s experience and expertise.”
