Chicago systems integration firm, Knightsbridge Solutions LLC, announced that Ron Barker, senior principal, has been named as the new leader for the insurance practice area.
The insurance practice area provides data management consulting and systems integration services to some of the top property and casualty, life, and commercial insurers in the U.S.
Barker began working with Knightsbridge in July 2001 and arrived at the company with more than 25 years of domestic and international IT experience in the financial services and insurance industries. Barker has worked with numerous global, multi-line insurance companies, where he tackled issues of technology as they relate to business and corporate strategy and application implementation. In addition, Barker was responsible for introducing two major international property and casualty application software systems to the U.S. market, both still commonly used today.
His role as Knightsbridge’s insurance practice area leader will include responsibilities such as supporting and overseeing existing client projects, growing the practice through new business development and expansions at existing clients, and increasing the level of industry knowledge within the insurance practice area.
Knightsbridge’s insurance practice area was formally established in 2000 and is dedicated to implementing high-performance data solutions. These solutions address the terabyte-class data problems that large insurers typically face such as consolidation, globalization, product convergence, distribution channel proliferation, and new approaches to customer information management.
The insurance practice area focus includes property and casualty insurance and reinsurance.
