A.M. Best Upgrades AmTrust to ‘A-‘

A.M. Best Co. has upgraded its rating of Beachwood, Ohio-based AmTrust Group (AG), which focuses on workers’ compensation for smaller employers, to “A-” (Excellent) based on a quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the company’s balance sheet strength, operating performance and business profile.

The rating, with a stable outlook, applies to three AG companies: Technology Insurance Co., Rochdale Insurance Co. and AmTrust International Insurance. AG’s domestic focus is on workers’ compensation for smaller employers within the 26 states where it is licensed to write this line of business.

“We feel there is a need to offer a competitive workers’ compensation product to the small business owner, and we are delighted to receive a Best’s Rating of A- (Excellent),” said Barry Zyskind, president of AmTrust Financial Services. “We are committed to growing the workers’ compensation book of business and
