Fowler and Keyes Join Noodle Specialty Brokers as Underwriting VPs

Insurance industry veterans James A. Fowler and John D. Keyes have joined Chicago-based Noodle Specialty Brokers (NSB), the newly formed division of InsuranceNoodle Inc., as senior vice presidents of underwriting.

Noodle Specialty Brokers offers professional liability and specialty small commercial property/casualty insurance products on a nationwide basis utilizing technology developed by InsuranceNoodle. Based on InsuranceNoodle’s proprietary SEMCI technology, NSB provides retailers and wholesalers online access to specialty small commercial products not available from national standard lines small commercial P/C carriers. NSB also offers admitted and nonadmitted products as a program manager for nationally recognized carriers.

Fowler, most recently executive vice president of XL Programs for XL Capital, where he started the workers’ compensation program unit, will focus on strategic analysis, planning, underwriting and marketing support for workers’ compensation product development. Prior to XL Capital, he held top management positions at Reliance National Insurance Co., Zurich American Insurance Group, American International Group and the Hartford Insurance Group.

Prior to joining NSB, Keyes was an underwriter for commercial lines at SHG Insurance Services. His other past positions include account manager for commercial lines with Transcom, senior national account broker at Aon, and account manager for commercial lines with Swett and Crawford. Keyes will manage and underwrite both property/casualty lines. In addition he will develop new products for InsuranceNoodle producers and other distribution channels around the country.
