Kansas Commissioner Sandy Praeger has announced that Kansas Insurance Department employee, Randy Adair, chief fraud investigator, has been selected as the 2nd vice-president of the Kansas-Western Missouri chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates. Following this initial four year commitment, Adair will assume the role as president of the Chapter.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the national Academy Program offers advanced investigative, management and fitness training for officers having proven records as professionals within law enforcement, according to the Kansas Department’s written release.
“Since the creation of the Anti-Fraud Division within the Kansas Insurance Department in May of 2003, we have received nearly 900 reported incidents of fraud,” said Praeger. “Since coming to the Department in 2005, Randy has played a key role in the investigation of many of these reported incidents and has been instrumental in uncovering numerous violations. His work is of the highest caliber and his appointment to this prestigious position is well deserved.”
Adair has served as a fraud investigator for the Kansas Insurance Department since May of 2005. Prior to coming to the Department, Adair served for 29 years with the Topeka Police Department (TPD). When he retired from the TPD, he was serving as Deputy Chief of Operations. Other service with the Topeka Department included: K-9 officer, SWAT team member, Internal Affairs investigator, Policy Accreditation manager, supervisor of the intelligence section in the Investigations Division, assistant commander of the Services Division, and commander of the Uniformed Division.
