Let’s hope some of the appointees actually have some recovery experience and that the panel will not be comprised of political friends and patronage positions.
Has anyone ever stopped to think about why these areas that never had flooding before are now flooding?
Could it be that by trying to dyke and levee around these existing properties it is just pushing the water down stream…..When the bigger Communities and Organizations are allowed to “push” the problem down stream without consequences…..the property owner downstream is the looser!

Maybe they should consider re-locating and re-building away from an area that could flood again.
