Are these the same “adults” who think it’s ok to supply booze to their children for these parties? The usual excuse it that they will just go elsewhere and get it. Certainly not my idea of responsible parents.

Intent of the law is ok – but how does a parent be on the guard/lookout for weapons? does this bill require patdown searches of any would-be attendee?

UNSUPERVISED CHILD PARTIES COULD RESULT IN A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE HOMEOWNER FOR ANY RESULTING INJURIES, WHICH COULD IMPACT THE HO-3 LIABILITY COVERAGE!

So they think $500 will get anyone’s attention? I think not. I thought they should be responsible for them without the state telling them this. But it seems a lot of the general public want government telling them what to do about everything, they’d better wake up before our country turns into a socialist counrty. l

Already most courts would hold parents liable. And most insurance companies would pay rather than go to a jury trial.
this law should make Parents and guardians more aware of their responsibilities.

yes, they are responsible for their children. even though they might hold a party at the house, how are they going to be responsible for everyone’s actions? they need to set rules and see that everyone tries to behave, but things can change quickly. you talk about weapons, a knife can be used, a bottle or various objects can be used. i can see making sure that the young ones do not have adult beverages, afterall, that is a law!

even still, there are good parents out there that do abide or make good rules, yet we find that many young kids want to see if they can break them. our kids think we don’t love them if they can have certain things going on at the house. i think if they pass this law, they need to make sure it is for kids 16 and under! 17 and over should be treated as an adult and made aware over and over again, of RIGHT and WRONG!
