I don’t get it. With all the insurers in the State of Michigan providing significant employment, the government has made a number of moves that hurt competition and raise taxes on insurers. Now they are spending time trying to make laws to protect a Michigan insurer, from what? This is something the company should be doing themselves not the government. If Freemont needs the State of Michigans help to run its business then it needs to get out of business. Hey, you buy a burger, milkshake, and an insurance policy. Sounds good to me. Steak, Shake and Insure.

There is a company who needs to be taken over!

I cannot believe that without a balanced budget for the state and no outlook of anything changing soon in out state they can waste their time on this in the Michigan Senate!

Get to work on the business of the State.

I wonder what a fast food franchise wants with an insurance company?

I’ve seen too many, very good, small insurance companies taken over by “fat cats” and become just another company, loosing their uniqueness and down home way of doing business. Fremont is one of those “very good” companies and I hope they stay that way.

Why in the heck did they go public…did they not think this day would come. Poor argument that they would move jobs out of Michigan as they only write in Michigan. It’s a free market economy but now Fremont cries foul because they want to continue to operate like a mutual. Get your company bibs on and start flippin.

Good question why Steak N Shake wants Fremont; that company will no longer exist in MI if they do take it over. Loss of jobs, taxes to the State etc.
With our economy we need to keep companies
so that our residents have choices. As an
agent, you would not want to lose a company that is good for MI and your clients. Hope it doesn’t happen to you.
