Are you kidding me? The children in China are the ones who are making the toys!

My sister-in-law is Chinese. She and my brother live in China. They come home to the states every 3 years for a visit. When she and I have gone shopping it’s amazing how many things here, that are “made in China”, are not sold in China, according to her. Maybe they keep the “good” stuff over there and send the crap here?!?!

Looks like a good verdict in this case. I also have wondered what the Chinese children get for their toys.

We can all do our part, stop buying things made in China. We will pay a little bit more intially but eventually we will get a pay off. We will see the return of more manufaturing jobs here from all of our US companies who have moved their operations to China because they can make it cheaper. It’s hard to find things not made in China but if we take a stand that will change.

I can’t speak specifically of Chinese kids, but those in Vietnam are buying much of the same. We spent a month in Vietnam adopting our son. We purchased numerous toys while there and many are the same as here, except much cheaper. Some we still have almost 3 yesrs later. Are they the same and does it affect the kids, no! The majoriy in this country are held hostage by a few!

Au contraire. You won’t pay a “little more” you’ll pay a lot more and the quality and safety will be just as bad if not worse. The U. S. government’s oversight of safety of products in this country is a joke, the domestic manufacturers buy off the politicians and the inspectors. Also in the meat industry and the mining industry, and many others in case you haven’t noticed.

Yes they do. And before we began importing from China, US kids were getting the same kind of stuff from US mfrs. There are plenty of stories of US made toys painted with lead paint, or containing cadmium, etc.

Anytime the system allows mfrs. to police themselves, or to ignore warnings from inspectors, you will always have safety problems.

Actually, US importers of goods from China have the products they buy tested rigorously by independent test labs. But unscrupulous mfrs. can always put aside a few of safe products to give the testers,

No, the stuff sold here is specifically designed for here.
