“That kind of money” may not seem like much to you but it’s nearly twice as much as the federal (and N. Dakota) minimum wage. For those making minimum, it may seem like a lot.
I’ve been following the oil “Boom” in North Dakota for the past 2 yrs. Williston ND is the center of it. McDonalds and Subway are paying $15/hr to start.The sand used in frac drilling is coming from Wisconsin,so it’s having a “Boom” of it’s own.It’s shipped best by rail, so the railroads are booming too.

Maybe they should pay their employees more. No one in their right mind is going to relocate for that kind of money.
