Why is the current law so sacred? No other state in the country has this level of benefits, and people are surviving.

@Dubya: Because even if no-fault goes away, we won’t see a decrease in premiums in the long term. We don’t trust the insurance industry and would rather keep the benefits. Let’s open the books of the MCCA before we go making any changes.

The books for the MCCA are open. I found their annual statements, auditor reports, and OFIR audit on their website along with a bunch of other financial information. All it took was a google search.

Why do you say their books aren’t open?

If you want to call in surviving. Do you know how fast 1 million dollars goes when you are talking life altering injury like parapalegic? With kneck and spine surgery and extended stay at the hospital you could be done in less then a month. You have insurance to cover this so you dont have to give up everything you worked hard for. And as far as being the only state doesnt make it wrong it means the other states need to catch up. I garauntee the savings we get from this for the first year will be gone as soon as the one year law is up and the insurance companies will be pocketing this money. Why not garauntee the savings by law not just one year?

Ok so is there a limit on paying in on insurance without making a claim? Can we get free insurance after we pay in X amount of dollars. Why should the insurance company get to stop paying out the insurance if I pay in for ever and never see a benefit?

A car make a left turn in front of him and totaled his car. The EMT told him he needed to go to the emergency room to have his back and head checked out since his head smashed into the window breaking the glass. In an attempt to save the insurance company money my son went to a walk in clinic instead. When the clinic tried to bill the auto insurance company, they refused payment because they felt our health insurance should pay first and they would pay second. My son was paying $1300 a year for car insurance and never had a ticket for anything. The insurance company blames medical expenses for the rates being so high yet they refuse to pay the medical expenses related to an accident.
It sounds like the Auto Insurance companies have quite a scam going and our state representatives should look into it. If they want to improve the economy in the state, they need to reduce car insurance so people can afford to drive to work, earn money and keep the economy growing instead of being crippled by paying insurance they will probably never use.
The insurance company gave my son a little over $3000 for his car which is less than he has paid in to insure it over the years, and now he can’t drive because he can’t afford to buy a safe car with the money they gave him and couldn’t afford to insure it if he could afford one.
