Even in this day & age, the abuse of the mentally challenged goes unreported. Having worked (ironically, in Texas) as a legal assistant for a probate attorney, I saw only a sliver of the people that are considered “throw away” people – many who are wards of the state. At least they had a guardian ad litem appointmented to ensure they were clothed, fed and in a decent facility. A majority of them have no one to stand up for them.
OMG. This sounds like some horrible Alfred Hitchcock movie! I don’t know why criminal charges were not pursued. Those sickos should be locked up.
You’re right, they should be prosecuted. What a disgrace to treat the disabled in this way. Paying a fine doesn’t seem to be enough punishment.
