If I’m legal to work, I should be legal to obtain a driver’s license.

Because B.O. on an agenda to take over control of this country issues an executive order to over ride the existing laws that you know will result in millions more democratic voters beholden to the Govt so we’ll end up with a one party system, that makes it legal????? Just another Obama end run around the voters. The Pied Piper marches on and the flock just blindly follows off the fiscal cliff. God help our children and grsndchildren – obviously no one else can!

You do realize they are still ineligible to vote, right? They have to go through the process of becoming a U.S. citizen before they can vote. And if you are going to bring up voter fraud, provide some researchble evidence that this is occurring on a significant level. Do not use anecdotal evidence and cite your source.

Ron–you are the MASTER of asking people for research. Why don’t you let us know where you do your research? I’m sure from only the most credible sources.

            Patti,

Are you saying that I should just everyone’s word? What I have learned in my experience is that those who argue from an emotional point of view make unsupported statements to make their point. I only respond favorably to facts, not emotion.
I do my research through many sources. Mostly CNN, Fox News, Business Week, The Economist, Wall Street Journal and assorted government sites. You will never see me quote and/or cite right or left wing websites (Huffington Post, Breitbart, Move-On or Heritage Foundation, etc.)
I am not asking for research, just facts and sources so I can do my own research. I cannot research and challenge/support someone else’s assertions if I do not know where they obtained their information.
There are too many people who post statements on blogs like this without anything to back them up.
By the way, I am still waiting for the metrics (data) you used to make the statement that Obama has made things 10 times worse.

but how can she be legal to work if she is still an illegal alien? the feds can’t have it both ways. the law says she is illegal; they need to fix the law before the grant hap-hazard exceptions. I’m not saying she shouldn’t have consideration, I’m saying the feds need to get their act together and not contradict their only fed law.

The Federal Government has No Idea how many illegal aliens are in this country. Everyone always speaks about the Mexicans. How about the Russians,Irish,Italians,Korean,Chinese etc. This country has no idea who is here and where they are. Boston is a prime example. I agree with bob who says it is about time to have the Federal Government get their act together. Stop counting votes and do what is right for this country. What a fresh idea.

the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is not law. It is an illegal Executive Order by Barack Hussein Obama. Congress should have put a stop to it, but we all know what an useless instition Congress has become. The only thing Saldana should get is a bus ticket back to Mexico along with any relatives that are also here illegally.

She committed no crime by coming here, her parents did. As a minor child, she was not able to make a decision one way or another to move to the U.S. So just where should the bus drop her off in Mexico? Her home is here. So as long as she’s here, let’s have her working and paying taxes. And remember, deferred status is temporary. If she commits a felony or renegs on any of the other requirements, she is subject to deportation. I don’t know about you, but it sounds like this girl is trying to do everything by the book. She is the kind of citizen we want.

Nebraska just needs to see what Arizona did when Obama sued them for the same exact thing. Arizona won and will not be issuing licenses to illegals. I guess the Federal government does have money to keep filing lawsuits against their own LEGAL citizens, but yet cut things that effect the LEGAL citizens on the basis they have no money.

(The local articles said these ladies want their drivers licenses so they can get to work.)

Where the Governor would REALLY make a difference is to deny the right to license a car. Because drivers license or not, these ladies are probably driving themselves to work every day. Or better yet, now that we know who they are and where they work, go to the EMPLOYER and punish them for hiring someone who at one point wasn’t legal to work in the US.

I agree that if want to stop the illegal immigrant issue you go after the employers. However, this one of the great political paradoxes of all time. Republicans are the party of the corporations and that is where they receive most of their donations. But they are also the party who wants to attract the southern and Tea Party voting block that is strongly against any type of amnesty or perceived amnesty for illegal immigrants. This is why hey talk tough about illegal immigrants, but will not go against the employers.

You guys are probably all done with this, but on the local news today, another law suit has been filed. This time by the ACLU, for the same reasons. Two more people who were given work permits under Obama’s executive order aren’t able to get their driver’s license (again, so they can drive to work) because of the Governor. I don’t get it. At what point to the states have to adhere to an Executive Order? It’s not a law so does it mean all states have to comply?

      From the Free Dictionary:

“Most executive orders are issued under specific statutory authority from Congress and have the force and effect of law. Such executive orders usually impose sanctions, determine legal rights, limit agency discretion, and require immediate compliance. Federal courts consider such orders to be the equivalent of federal statutes. In addition, regulations that are enacted to carry out these executive orders have the status of law as long as they reasonably relate to the statutory authority. An administrative action that is carried out under a valid executive order is similar to an agency action that is carried out under a federal statute.”
