Pim Aviation Insurance Becomes Newest Division of Kansas-Based IMA

Wichita, Kan.-based retail insurance broker, IMA Inc., announced it has created a new aviation practice in partnership with PIM Aviation Insurance.

PIM Aviation Insurance, a division of IMA, will be led by Timothy K. Bonnell Sr. as the director of the division and Timothy K. Bonnell Jr. as aviation team leader. Kathy McNeil will serve as the commercial aviation manager.

Founded by Timothy K. Bonnell Sr. in 1982, PIM has served commercial, pleasure and business aircraft as well as FBOs, aircraft and parts manufacturers, agriculture aviation and airline operations with creative problem solving and negotiation.

Timothy K. Bonnell Sr. entered the aviation insurance business in early 1975 with aviation specialty agency pioneer Don Flower Associates Inc., a subsidiary of Rollins Burdick Hunter. In 1982, he founded Professional Insurance Management. He is a commercial and instrument rated pilot and holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designation. He has written numerous articles published in major aviation and insurance publications and is president of the Kansas Aviation Museum and a Past President of the Aviation Insurance Association.

Timothy K. Bonnell Jr. is a third generation pilot and a second generation aviation insurance broker. He was raised in the aviation insurance industry and had the opportunity to learn it from the ground up. His formal education was completed at Kansas State University. He joined PIM Aviation Insurance as a full-time broker in 2000. He is a private and instrument rated pilot and has the Certified Insurance Counselor professional designation.
