I believe a higher penalty for ‘texter’ caused accidents who yield more followers. If you lose your driver license for causing an accident with texting suddenly texting and driving make no sense.

Why can’t these idiots in government stop passing laws? Now people are texting in their laps and it’s far more dangerous. Even the seatbelt laws are nonsense, cops really don’t enforce it in most states and it’s really a scheme to generate revenue or look for other items in the cars of those that they have pulled over. We are so buried in laws as of now noone could possible read them all. We need to move the other direction and shut down the nanny state.

Texting while driving is distracted driving, plain and simple. It should be a primary violation, and in my company we’re raising the surcharge for it because we see a strong correlation between drivers with texting violations and losses.
