Insurance Startup Berkley One Launches in Illinois

November 28, 2017

Startup insurance provider, Berkley One, has launched in Illinois, the first state of a planned national state-by-state rollout.

Working with a select group of independent agents, Berkley One offers home, automobile, fine art and collectibles, and excess liability insurance solutions, with additional product expansions slated in 2018.

Berkley One offers a high touch, high-tech approach in all aspects of the insurance experience. Policies have been designed to allow for clients to obtain flexible coverage limits in certain areas and select specific endorsements to adapt to the way they live. Likewise, technology is designed to support policy and service flexibility, including a client portal and mobile application. Berkley One allows clients to choose to engage on their terms, when and where they want.

Strong partnerships with select independent agents are a key component of Berkley One’s approach to offering highly personalized insurance.

“We’re engaging agents and brokers who are committed to excellence, experts in advice and looking for ways to do more for their clients,” said Kathleen Tierney, president and founder, in the company’s announcement. “They are side-by-side with us in building the organization and creating customized solutions for today’s clients.”

For example, agents have collaborated with Berkley One in the creation of a unique agency portal, an “always on” information center with access to information, technology and marketing that they can bring forward to their clients.

Berkley One is a member company of commercial property casualty insurance provider Berkley.
