3 Policyholders Receive Safety First Grants from Missouri’s Safety National

St. Louis, Missouri-based Safety National, through its annual Safety First Grant Program, has awarded three policyholders for their creative risk control solutions.

The first-place grant, in the amount of $10,000, was awarded to Yale University to host a series of mobile slip simulator training events. Training will provide hands-on experience to help negotiate slippery surfaces and, when possible, methods to avoid slip, trip and fall exposures altogether.

The second-place grant, in the amount of $5,000, was awarded to Miami Dade County Public Schools to expand Rebuild Me – a program designed to prevent injury, speed return to work, and address comorbidities by encouraging employees to engage in healthier lifestyles.

The third-place grant, in the amount of $2,500, was awarded to SDML Workers’ Compensation Fund to expand their grant program that provides lift equipment for volunteer ambulance, fire and rescue members. This equipment helps to reduce and eliminate back injuries that can result from lifting patients.

The Safety First Grant Program is available to any Safety National workers’ compensation insurance policyholder with a risk control solution that aligns with Safety National’s lines of coverage.

The next grant application period will open in June 2020.
