They might be further ahead bringing back acreage set-aside and PIK program like they did in the 1980’s in response to problems with production agriculture. Agriculture is dependent on the government directly and indirectly through the Farm Bill and other policy and direct and indirect support; it’s been that way for 150 years or more.

Their supplies and machinery the farmers need to farm are overpriced and controlled by conglomerates. The output they produce is subject to commodity pricing dictated by the market and political forces (e.g., remember the grain embargoes?) How do you get young people into farming to replace the aging farmer?

The rate of suicide in the farming industry is skyrocketing. These “trade deals” are a sham and nothing will come of them. But look out…they are coming for your guns…

      Not to worry.

President Grandpa Simpson, er Biden, will end all trade tariffs, allow China to punish us with theft of technology again, allow China to flood our markets with manufactured goods with artificially suppressed prices like before, watch as China keeps tariffs on American goods.

Then Slow Joe will open the borders completely for 90 days for illegal immigrants and diseased foreigners, kiss China’s ass again just like the good old days and watch manufacturing jobs start disappearing like under Bush and Obama.

      Glory Days!

Socialism and wealth-redistribution at its finest.

Of course. There’s only a problem with socialism and wealth-redistribution if the wealth is being distributed to brown people or democrats. The hypocrisy of the GOP knows no bounds.
