George Daly with The Horton Group in Orland Park, Ill., has been elected president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois (IIA of IL). Daly’s term runs until Sept. 30, 2021.
As president, Daly will serve as a member of the six-person executive committee of the IIA of IL board of directors. He is responsible for the general leadership functions of the IIA of IL and will act as an official delegate of the association at state and national functions.
Daly is currently president of the Personal Lines Division of The Horton Group. He spent his first two years in the industry with Allstate and then moved to Insure One for 19 years before settling at The Horton Group.
The Horton Group, with 375 employees in offices in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin started in 1971 and is one of the top 50 largest insurance agencies in the country. They have been voted a “Best Agency to Work For” by Insurance Journal.
Daly has spent several years representing the IIA of IL in various roles, including regional director, government relations chair, at-large board member, vice president, and president-elect. The Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois (IIA of IL), headquartered in Springfield, represents Trusted Choice independent insurance agents throughout the state. IIA of IL membership includes 1,000 insurance agencies representing 10,000 licensed independent agents engaged in all facets of the insurance industry, including property, casualty, life and health.
