IIAA Names Flannagan VP of Education and Research

Madelyn H. Flannagan is the new vice president of education and research for the Independent Insurance Agents of America.

“Madelyn offers many years of agency system experience in the areas of research, agency management, education and technology to IIAA and its members,” said IIAA CEO Paul Equale. “Her leadership will enable the Association to extend its education and research programs to reach to more agents and strengthen the competitiveness of the independent agency system.”

In her new role, Flannagan will lead the national association’s efforts to provide education, technology and research support to its state associations and member agents. She also will guide efforts to increase the use of Best Practices tools by independent agents and insurance companies, as well as oversee the association’s Accredited Customer Service Representative program and other educational offerings.

Flannagan will oversee the Commission to Enhance Agency Value, a joint agency-company effort that develops and promotes the use of IIAA Best Practices tools. The CEAV is in the eighth year of its mission to provide information, research, tools and other support that enhance the overall quality and excellence of independent agents and creates awareness of the agency brand among the public.

Flannagan will maintain her responsibilities for the content and overall direction of IIAA’s website, www.independentagent.com. In this position, she applies her extensive experience in today’s advanced technologies and the agency system to assist member agents, association staff, consultants, reporters and insurance consumers in researching and utilizing the vast amount of insurance information available online.
